Dr Yik Lim graduated from University of Melbourne and underwent his obstetrics and gynaecology specialty training at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Victoria. Following a senior registrar year in the United Kingdom, he spent a further four years of subspecialty training in urogynaecology in Queensland and Victoria under four leading urogynaecologists in Australia (Prof Ajay Rane, A/Prof Malcolm Frazer, Prof Peter Dwyer, A/Prof Anna Rosamilia).

During his training, he received multiple awards which included Brown Craig Travelling Scholarship (to learn urogenital fistulae repair in India), Bill Boyd Black Bottle Award and Christopher Kohlenberg medal (for best research presentations) as well as AMS Travelling Scholarship to attend ICS meeting in Netherlands (for top scoring urogynaecology subspecialty examination in Australia). He was awarded his fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in 2004 and his subspecialty Certificate in Urogynaecology (CU) in 2007.

He has authored/co-authored in excess of twenty manuscripts in both national & international journals, and regularly facilitates various anatomy, surgical and hands on workshops in the field of urogynaecology.
