Maternity Tours Update
The safety of our patients, staff, visitors, and doctors is always our top priority. We have been proactively planning and implementing a comprehensive response to the evolving COVID-19 situation in Australia. In light of recent developments, a decision has been made to postpone our maternity tours for the time being. We will provide an update with new information in the coming weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any queries please contact our Maternity Liaison Officer - firstname.lastname@example.org
Mitcham Private Hospital is committed to planning and providing a comprehensive childbirth and parenting program to prepare parents for the birth of their child. Our educators are all experienced midwives and currently also work in our Maternity Unit.
Bookings and more information
We don’t want you to miss out! We recommend booking your desired class midway through your pregnancy to ensure your preferred place. An ideal time to attend your classes is from 28 weeks gestation and onwards, this will help you to retain the information given in the class. Class numbers are restricted to maintain a personal and conducive teaching environment.
We ask that you or your support person does not attend classes if you are unwell or suffering from known diseases such as chickenpox, measles or shingles.
The cost of your antenatal classes may be covered by your health fund. We advise you check with your provider before making payment.
If your health fund does not cover your class, our maternity unit Ward Clerk will make contact with you to organise payment. Once payment is processed, a receipt for your class will be sent to you and your place will be confirmed
For cancellation please contact us 2 weeks prior to the commencement date of your class.
If you require further information regarding any of our classes please contact our maternity reception team during business hours on 9210 3111.
