Dr Anil Asthana

Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Anil Asthana, gastroenterologist and hepatologist. Anil completed his undergraduate medical degree from King’s College London in the UK and is currently a member of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

Anil has expertise in colorectal cancer screening and management, reflux disease and barrett’s oesophagus, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome. He caters for privately insured patients at Mitcham Private Hospital and has a public appointment at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Anil has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals, textbook chapters and continues his research interests in both IBD and functional gut disorders.

He operates a weekly open access endoscopy service at Mitcham Private Hospital with regular lists and can accommodate patients on an urgent basis.
