Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Yong Chiang (Jonathan) Tan, gastroenterologist and hepatologist. Jonathan graduated from the University of Melbourne, completed his gastroenterology training in various tertiary Melbourne hospitals before pursuing his passion in interventional endoscopy at The Alfred Hospital Melbourne. At The Alfred, he aided the completion of various clinical trials and presented his work at international landmark gastroenterology conferences. Jonathan then embarked on a one-year prestigious overseas interventional endoscopy fellowship at the University of British Columbia further refining his skills in a renowned liver transplant centre in Vancouver Canada.
Jonathan currently holds a public appointment at Box Hill Hospital as one of the senior visiting medical staff. Jonathan sees patients with all forms of gut related problems with an interest in managing pancreas biliary related diseases and colorectal cancer screening/prevention.
He performs endoscopy procedures at various private hospitals in the Eastern suburbs to deliver excellent patient care and for patients’ convenience. He attends weekly multidisciplinary gastrointestinal meetings to discuss various clinical cases in a team approach with other esteemed colleagues to achieve the best possible outcome for all his patients. Good communication to various medical and allied health professions is a core value that Jonathan holds.
