Ola is passionate about providing a high standard of care and compassion to all her patients, and will endeavor to see all new referrals in a timely manner.

Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Ola Niewiadomski, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist who combines private practice with a Senior Medical Specialist appointment at a major public hospital (Eastern Health).

Ola studied Medicine at Monash University, graduating with honours in 2004. After finishing her gastroenterology training in Melbourne, she completed a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at St Vincent’s hospital along with postgraduate degree (PhD) through the University of Melbourne. Ola was granted the Australian Postgraduate Award, as well as an international award (European Crohn’s Colitis Young Investigator Award 2015) for her research and has published in local and international journals.

Ola maintains a strong clinical and research interest in Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis (IBD) and is the Principal Investigator for pharmaceutical clinical trials at Eastern Health. Additional areas of current research include perianal Crohn’s disease and gastrointestinal manifestations of amyloid.

Ola holds an Adjunct Senior Lecturer position at Monash University.

In her role as Senior Medical Specialist at Eastern health she is involved in the IBD service, general gastroenterology, endoscopy, and nutrition.

She retains a broad range of interests in all areas of gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer surveillance (NBCSP), irritable bowel syndrome, reflux disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, nutrition, hepatology, endoscopy, colonoscopy, removal of polyps and capsule endoscopy.
