Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Tissa Tandiari, gastroenterologist and hepatologist who completed her MBBS medical degree at Monash University in 2005 and gained FRACP specialist status in gastroenterology in 2012 having trained in both Melbourne and Sydney.
She went on to complete an 18-month senior clinical fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy at Royal London Hospital (Barts Health, largest NHS trust in the UK) along with a Research and Clinical Fellowship in Clinical nutrition at St Mark’s hospital’s Lennard Jones unit (2014- 2015, London).
In 2017, Tissa then further equipped herself with the latest advanced skills in early gastric cancer and gastric intestinal metaplasia screening at Osaka International Cancer Institute. She is now performing most of the screening for patients at risk of gastric cancer for Eastern Health, on top of her roles in the inflammatory bowel disease and nutrition services. Tissa has weekly endoscopy lists at Box Hill and Maroondah hospitals.
Tissa has presented her research works in various national and international gastroenterological meetings and authored publications. She prioritises being a caring, compassionate, and approachable consultant gastroenterologist who is highly committed to her patients’ care.
