Ken has a particular interest in endoscopy procedures and Pill Cam endoscopy for evaluation of small bowel.

Mitcham Private Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr Ken Tan, gastroenterologist and hepatologist and general physician.

Ken trained at the University of Adelaide in 1998 and obtained specialist training in gastroenterology and internal medicine at Wellington and Auckland hospitals in New Zealand 2009. He pursued endoscopy fellowship at the Western hospital, Melbourne where he gained expertise in advanced endoscopy procedures in 2010.

Ken is the staff specialist at The Box Hospital and Maroondah Hospital.

Ken provides an enthusiastic and dedicated endoscopy and consultative service in:

  • General gastroenterology
  • Hepatology – Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C
  • Endoscopy Procedures – Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Pill Cam Endoscopy
  • National Bowel cancer Screening Program

His interests encompasses treatment of viral hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal malignancy. He has particular interest in endoscopy procedures and Pillcam endoscopy for evaluation of small bowel.

Ken has multi-linguistic skills communicating in English, Mandarin, and Hokkien
