Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Lik Hui (William) Lau. William is a medical graduate from The University of Melbourne. He completed his endocrine specialist training through Austin, Northern and Bendigo Health. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2019 and completed further training in General Medicine and Obstetric Medicine in 2020 at Austin Health and the Mercy Hospital for Women where he continues working as a VMO.
William has interests in all facets of endocrinology including management of type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal diseases, thyroid disorders, men’s health and the metabolic syndrome. His interests extend to managing general medical conditions affecting pregnant women including hypertensive disorders, cardiac and respiratory conditions, endocrine conditions, clotting dysfunction and renal disease.
William has a strong academic background having published a number of papers and presented at national scientific meetings. He continues to be involved in junior medical staff teaching and research in diabetes and pregnancy medicine and is dedicated to providing holistic patient centered care with a focus on good patient communication.
