Mitcham Private Hospital Introduces New Bariatric Surgery Service (Weight-Loss Surgery)

Mitcham Private Hospital is pleased to announce the commencement in private practice of Mr Steven Karametos, General and Gastrointestinal surgeon, who will be offering patients a broad repertoire of general surgical services. He has a special interest in bariatric surgery and in association with the Victorian Obesity Surgery Centre offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary service for laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding.
Mr Karametos is committed to providing a high level of service to
general practitioners and their patients with a comprehensive range
of general surgical procedures based at Mitcham Private Hospital.
He holds public appointments at Maroondah Hospital and the Angliss.
He speaks fluent Greek.
Mitcham Private Hospital has offered general surgical services
for over 40 years, from minor “lumps and bumps” type surgery,
endoscopy, through to a range of hepatobiliary, pancreatic and
breast surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery including hepatic,
pancreatic, gastric and hernia repair.
General surgery at Mitcham Private Hospital is supported by a 3
Bed High Dependency Unit, specialized nursing care and 24 hr/7 day
week physician and emergency anaesthetic service rosters. Both
pathology and diagnostic imaging services (including CT) are located
on site.
