Kwong comes to us after completing more than 23 years of psychiatric experience in the public hospital sector in Australia. He obtained his Fellowship from the RANZCP and completed advanced training in General Adult Psychiatry.
Kwong consults onsite at Mitcham Private Hospital’s Consulting Suites and has admission privileges at Victoria Court (Mitcham Private Hospital).
In addition to skills in managing a broad range of adult psychiatric issues, Kwong has special interests in Psychotherapy, and treatment of Personality Disorders and Complex-Trauma. He has experience with use of Dialectical Behavioural Treatment,
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. He believes in holistic and eclectic approaches, for example, incorporating pharmacological therapies with psychological, family, interpersonal, dietary, exercise, sensory modulation and faithbased strategies.
Kwong is a strong advocate for increased public awareness of mental health issues, and destigmatising mental illness to enhance the community and collaborative approach to mental health difficulties.
