Inpatient Program

Victoria Court is a 14 bed inpatient facility designed to accommodate adult patients requiring acute inpatient psychiatric care.

The unit is supported by a highly professional and passionate mental health team, providing inpatient therapy programs which are both structured yet flexible. Care is delivered in a variety of settings, combining individual counselling and psychotherapy, group therapy, skill development, activities and medical treatments to ensure the best outcome for each patient.

The mental healthcare team at Victoria Court consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, allied health professions and general medical staff.

Day Program

Outpatient treatment options are suited to adult patients who are no longer in acute crisis but who need further support to recover from their illness.

These programs can assist patients during the transition period following discharge from a hospital admission, during times of crisis or episodes of heightened stress and anxiety, or as ongoing support to maintain mental health and wellbeing to avoid a future hospital admission.

The programs are primarily in the form of skills training sessions, evidence based group sessions and individual review sessions and are facilitated by qualified mental health professionals who collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ongoing management can continue with the treating medical practitioner, like a GP, making this the ideal shared care arrangement.

• Mood Disorders Program

Psychiatric Assessments and Private Consultations

In situations where a person is in need of an urgent psychiatric assessment, a consultation can be arranged with an accredited Mitcham Private psychiatrist by calling the Intake Coordinator at Victoria Court on (03) 9210 3155.

All referrals for general psychiatrist consultations are made via their private consulting rooms during business hours.
