Maternity: Look @ My Baby – Virtual Baby visit now available at Mitcham Private Hospital
Look @ My Baby – Virtual Baby visit now available at Mitcham Private Hospital
Mitcham Private Hospital can now offer new parents a secure video streaming service, allowing their friends and family from anywhere in the world access to live video of their precious newborn direct from the maternity cot to a mobile phone or computer, via an SMS message - a Virtual Baby Visit! This amazing technology, Look@MyBaby was launched at Mitcham Private Hospital in November 2011.
To access the service, parents can register on line by clicking the “Look @ My Baby” banner. Cost of the service is a one-off fee of $100, enabling parents and their families and friends, secure access to unlimited video viewing of the newborn during their hospital stay. Parents who register are supplied with a unique security code, and friends and family are then invited to view live video of the baby free of charge, (not including the cost of their ordinary Internet access).
Chief Executive Officer of Mitcham Private Hospital, Darren Rogers is very excited about the new service. “With the technology now available, our maternity patients can invite their loved ones who aren’t able to visit the opportunity to share in this exciting time in their lives, just by using their mobile phone or computer!”.
Melbourne based developer Clayton Neilson agrees. "The Look@MyBaby service is often purchased by grandparents or relatives that were unable to be present for the newborn arrival, all for the cost of a bunch of flowers".
